When a child falls sick, it is never just one family that suffers. Illness affects everyone around them — neighbors, relatives, friends, and the wider community that shares their pain. At MY Foundation, we believe that healing is not a private matter but a shared responsibility. From our earliest days, we have witnessed how collective action can transform despair into hope and how communities united by compassion can create miracles.

How It Began

Our journey started with simple but powerful steps. A group of young volunteers noticed the silent crisis in their city — families drowning under the weight of medical expenses, parents unable to afford treatment, and children losing the chance at survival because money stood between them and healthcare.

Instead of turning away, these volunteers chose to act. Forty to fifty youth came together in 2013 with one determination: to make medical care accessible to families struggling on the margins. By 2015, their efforts became formalized as MY Foundation, and the work expanded in both scale and vision.

What We Do Today

Our focus remains on ensuring that no family suffers alone. Over the years, our initiatives have grown and diversified to respond to community needs. Today, MY Foundation:

• Provides direct medical support and financial help to patients who cannot afford treatment.
• Offers counseling and awareness programs, guiding families through health crises with dignity.
• Connects unemployed youth to employment opportunities, giving them both livelihood and purpose.

Every case we take on is a reminder that collective compassion can bridge the gap between suffering and survival. Each contribution — big or small — becomes a part of someone’s healing journey.

Expanding Beyond Healthcare

But our mission did not stop at health alone. As we engaged with families, another painful truth surfaced: the crushing burden of dowry. Parents of daughters were trapped in financial ruin, and marriages that should have brought joy instead brought humiliation and lifelong debt.

We decided to intervene with the same principle of community-driven action. Through collective marriages, we created a space where dignity replaced debt. Over the years, more than 150 marriages in Latur have been solemnized without the shadow of dowry. These weddings became not only personal milestones for families but also powerful public statements against injustice.
